Pupil Voice and School Council
At St. Kenelm’s the children are at the heart of school life and their ideas and opinions matter. We have an active School Council that is involved in different aspects of the school which is has representatives from across the year groups. The children go through a system where they are put forward their ideas and opinions as to why they should be on the school council in a manifesto and then a vote occurs. This links with our British Values education.
The school council then meets every other week to discuss matters. The children bring their own agenda ideas to the meeting from their individual classes and they also discuss whole school issues.
The children’s ideas from each meeting are recorded as minutes and then fed back to each class.
Learning Ambassadors
Each class has two learning ambassadors. They have an important role in school to encourage learning behaviours that promote excellence and achievement.
Each week the learning ambassadors have a learning super power to focus on and will choose children from each class to have a star pupil postcard sent home! It could be you!
Our Learning Super Powers are:
PRIME
Perseverance, Resilience, Independence, Mindfulness and Enthusiasm.
St. K Buddies
The St. K Buddies are a group of children from different year groups who promote friendship and co-operation. We have a St. K buddy bench and everyone knows to go there if they are feeling like they need a friend!
