Find out about Mrs Hayes.
Hello, I am the Reception teacher and Early Years Coordinator at St. Kenelm’s. My role includes ensuring that the children make a smooth transition into school and then into year 1. Hence the reason why I am enjoying working closely with Mrs Groves in Year 1 and with the local pre school settings (including our on-site nursery) that our young children come from. I am excited to be leading Reading and Phonics in Early Years and I also have a special interest of working with parents, valuing the contribution you make as your child's first educator. So, I will be looking forward to meeting lots of you at our workshops and share sessions. Not to mention supporting our brilliant HSA with my face painting to continue to raise funds so our children can benefit from new and wonderful resources.
I have taught at Worcestershire schools for the last 20 years experiencing teaching throughout different year groups. This has included KS2 cover, Year 2 and Year 1. However the vast amount of my experiences, my degree and my passion lies within the Early Years having taught in both Reception and Nursery. I believe the Early Years are the most important time in a child's education. A time when firm foundations are laid on which future learning is built upon and in which attitudes to life long learning are established. So I will strive to get it right.
On a personal note, I am a family first person, enjoying spending quality time with my now grown-up children . I also have a very mischievous Labrador who takes me for some lovely walks !! I love the performing arts, enjoying live music, dancing and the musicals.
